VISION OF WONDER: A piece for movement and the magic lantern

Conjuring the technological transformative ghost-energy of Loie Fuller (1862-1928) — modern dance pioneer, media innovator and creator of hypnotic spectacles — four artists channel this heritage in an all-day drop-in performance-meditation on light and movement. Time Lapse Dancers Jenny Campbell, Lior Daniel and Krissy Tate (under the direction of choreographer Jody Sperling) come together with artist Amy-Claire Huestis, artist Suzanne Déry, and composer Omar Zubair to invoke a space outside of time, bridging art nouveau and the contemporary. Drop in and become a part of this continually-developing tableau vivant mystérieuse.

Hand-operated plasma light magic lanterns, bodies in movement, and mysterious luminous images produce a situation of happenstance for the audience, a gentle human element unfamiliar and delightful in this day.
