Jody Sperling/Time Lapse Dance
with live music by composer Matthew Burtner

The company will give a midday concert sponsored by WP Presents! The featured work is Ice Cycle, a dance expressing the fragility and dynamism of the Arctic icescape. The piece is inspired by choreographer Jody Sperling’s experience dancing on Arctic polar sea ice. For this performance, Time Lapse Dance  collaborates with composer Matthew Burtner, a pioneer in eco-acoustics, to include ice-inflected sounds to create stunningly beautiful music. Also featured on the program is the Burtner-Sperling collaboration Wind Rose, which visualizes wind patterns that are changing along with the earth’s climate.

Tickets: $5  (WP students admitted free with ID)
