Screen Shot 2017-02-17 at 12.09.13 PMFrench feature film The Dancer (La Danseuse, Dir. Stephanie Di Giusto 2016) is a visually sumptuous drama set amidst the opulence of La Belle Époque Paris that charts the real-life saga of modern dance icon and dance technologist Loie Fuller. Choreographed by Artistic Director Jody Sperling, the film premiered at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival and will have its NYC premiere in the Lincoln Center Film Society’s Rendez-Vous with French Cinema Festival on March 6. In addition to choreographing the film Sperling was a creative consultant and dance coach to lead actress Soko, spending 5-6 hours per day for 5 weeks helping her become “La Loie.” The screening will be introduced by the director with a Q&A with Sperling to follow. Don’t miss this special opportunity to see the film during its brief NYC run.
