Iris Fodor, Ph.D., Professor Emerita, New York University

Iris Fodor was a Professor in the Department of Applied Psychology for over forty-five years. She was the director of two doctoral programs for training child clinicians and School Psychologists,

Dr. Fodor is a clinical psychologist and therapist in New York City, specializing in work with people in the arts. She is known for teaching, writings and research in clinical psychology, gender issues and narrative psychology. She has published over fifty articles and chapters.

Dr. Fodor is also a social activist and photographer who has collaborated on digital story telling video projects with Tibetan adolescents in India and adolescents in South Africa, and Peru. Recent work focuses on memoir and experiential writing. She has been active in Professional Organizations and conducted international training seminars world-wide. Dr. Fodor is a fellow of the American Psychological Association and is past president of their Clinical Division section on Women. She is on editorial boards of Professional Journals. and has had Photography exhibits of her photographs from India and Peru.

Iris Fodor has a BA from CCNY, MA in Psychology and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Boston University.
