Angela Hunter is an award-winning journalist, producer and media consultant skilled in engaging the social generation through video content. She taps into her vast experience in unscripted television - including news, educational series, documentary and reality TV – to provide industry insight and direction for companies looking to launch or expand their video content offering.
Prior to her time as a media consultant, Angela was the Senior Vice President and Executive Producer of Channel One News, the award-winning daily news show for students and a division of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. She managed the network's editorial, programming, curriculum and marketing operations. As Executive Producer, she lead a team of multi-media journalists who reported on the top stories from across the globe -- all from a young perspective. She created age-appropriate shows and standards-aligned curriculum that inform and engage students while supporting teachers’ needs in the classroom.
Along with managing Channel One News, Angela has leveraged the studio facilities and skillset to produce several video series for other divisions of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, including a DIY craft show for Pre-K, and a Career series for 17-21 year olds.
Prior to joining Channel One News as Executive Producer, Angela was an independent producer on projects for MSNBC, MTV, TLC, The Travel Channel, fuse, and Court TV. In 2006, she launched Number Nine Productions, a company dedicated to developing non-fiction documentary and television concepts. Angela began her career as an Investigative News Producer for the CBS affiliate, KUTV, in Salt Lake City, Utah leading a unit that topped the ratings in the market.
