Jody Sperling brings her luminous Loie Fuller tributes to life in this special New Year’s Day broadcast. As an artist-in-residence at The Center at West Park this fall, Sperling found a creative refuge in the dance studio and ample space to stretch her wings once more. This informal program includes the repertory favorite “Clair de lune,” described as "a masterful work of resplendent yet restrained evocation of the supernatural" (Philip Sandstrom, Dance Insider). Also on the program are two pieces from “The Dancer,” the French feature film inspired by Fuller’s life , and Sperling’s whirling solo “Piece from a Northern Sky.” Join us for a Q & A following.
